REFLECTIONS | FOOD DRIVE AUG 30, 2020
Saadh sangat ji, after a string of scorching hot weather during last few weeks, sevadaars had a much deserved respite & were greeted with a cloudy day, a constant drizzle and a bright sunshine towards the end of the drive. However, weather was not a deterrent as sevadaars served close to 600 meals and a few grocery items to around 20 families. Regular deliveries to Homeless & Orphanage were also made.
The menu for this Sunday was chickpeas cooked in traditional Indian mild spices served with rice-pulao (rice & boiled mix-veggies), bananas, snacks and water. As all the langar had been distributed during the food drive, the sevadaars quickly cooked chah-pakorae da langar served with hot-chilly sauce to complement an awesome rainy day. Special thanks to Shiela Singh ji to take up the initiative at a very short notice. Also, volunteers would like to thank Deepa Makhijani ji for the seva of delicious motichoor de laddos.
And finally, the first lot of 150 t-shirts was distributed to our beloved sevadaars (volunteers), which were proudly donned by them right then and there (enjoy the stunning photographs above)! We are ordering second lot of t-shirts as we would add more volunteers to our list.
We would like to thank this week’s langar seva sponsor Deepa Makhijani Ji and family.
Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh!
